Bathroom Remodeling provided by our Contractors

Admittedly, bathrooms usually get a reputation for being one of the least stylish rooms of the entire home. Whether working with a small powder of room or the main suite, bathrooms are often of lesser importance. But if done well, a bathroom remodel fulfills two critical goals:

1. Your new bathroom is more functional and simplifies your morning routine.

2. It looks fantastic.

Adds no value to home

Myth

Bathroom Remodels Add No Value to a Home

Fact

A bathroom that has not been recently remodeled only serves to drag down a home’s value, often drastically, depending on the condition of the bathroom.

Doesn't help save money

Myth

Remodeling Does Not Help You Save Money or Increase Your Home’s Eco-Friendliness

Fact

Remodeling within your bathroom can absolutely help you cut utility bills and make the bathroom more environmentally friendly.

Need Big Budget

Myth

You have to have a big budget

Fact

While bathroom remodels can get very expensive, you do not need to have a big budget in order to achieve the final result you desire. Set your budget first, and then look for ways to save while getting the features that you want.

Needs Luxury

Myth

Your bathroom remodel needs to add luxury

Fact

Not every home requires a Columbus Bath Design room. Simply aim to create the bathroom design that you desire, without worrying about making it high end. You want a remodel that makes your space functional and stylish for years to come.

Seperate Bathtub & Shower

Myth

You have to separate the tub and the shower

Fact

Not every home is suited to having a bathroom with a separate tub and shower. You may not have the space, the money, or even the interest in separating these features.

Factors to consider before you begin with your Bathroom Remodeling?

Colour scheme

Are you interested in a modern farmhouse look? Or are you looking for a clean, modern design to match the rest of your home decor? Find inspiring photos for your vision ahead of time to ensure your new bathroom tiles don’t clash with your choice of paint.

New fixtures

Are you installing a new sink? Will you replace your shower or tub? Replacing one or both of these fixtures will add to your project’s timeline and funding.

Storage spaces

Where will you store your towels and toiletries post-remodel? If you’re removing a closet to extend the room, make sure you have shelving or cupboards to make up for the lost storage room in your bathroom.

Location of utilities

Do you know where the electrical wiring and plumbing pipes are situated? Keep these areas marked to evade damaging them and making costly repairs.

7 Steps of Bathroom Remodeling?

Remove Bathroom Fixtures
Assuming you’re partially renovating your bathroom, you’ll need to start by removing drywall and any fixtures you’re replacing. Gutting the bathroom yourself isn’t tricky, but follow these steps to avoid costly mistakes during the demolition phase.

Install new fixtures

You can start installing your new fixtures after gutting your bathroom. However, if there are any indications of rotting wood or water damage to your subfloor, you should replace it prior to installing your new shower to thwart further damage.

Lay the New Flooring

After preparing your subfloor, you can begin installing your new flooring. While tile is the most prevalent choice for bathrooms, you may consider other flooring materials like laminate or vinyl, which are more reasonable and DIY-friendly to work with.

Hang Drywall and Start Painting

The next step in your bathroom remodels is to hang your new drywall. This can take a long time, as you have to cut the new drywall to conform to your shower walls, vanity, and other parts. Once you start nailing up the panels, though, you should be able to get through this procedure quickly.

Install Cabinets and Vanity
After taking care of the walls, you can bring in the vanity, cabinets, and other significant things left on your bathroom renovation list. Install the vanity sooner, including the sink and tap. Once the drain is attached to the faucet, you can work on the other essentials such as the mirror, cabinets, and trim around the shower or tub.

Update Lighting
Configure electrical fixtures and install new lighting. If their proportions are bigger or smaller than your existing ones, you’ll need to modify the wiring and potentially spackle around pre-existing holes in the wall.

Hook Up the Plumbing

At this point in the process, your bathroom resembles a bathroom, save for the toilet. Of course, you could reinstall your toilet or install a new one earlier in the process, but leaving it for last helps you prevent chipping it while working on other bathroom areas.
